Math, Physics, & Philosophy

Dean, to the physics department. “Why do I always have to give you guys so much money, for laboratories and expensive equipment and stuff.

Why couldn’t you be like the math department – all they need is money for pencils, paper and waste-paper baskets. Or even better, like the philosophy department.

All they need are pencils and paper.”

  1. Unlike Doug, I think it’s a good joke. But in another section, there is an even better philosophy joke. A man walks into a shop that is advertising a talking dog. The salesman takes him to have a chat with the animal. The dog tells him about his life, including a tour of duty in Iraq and his volunteer work as a reader in an old people’s home. The man turns to the vendor and asks why he wants to sell such an amazing dog. “Because he’s a liar,” the salesman says. “He never did any of that.”
